Recycling collaborative procurement—upcoming tender release
Over the next six years significant reform will be delivered through Recycling Victoria: a new economy. Investing in new and upgraded infrastructure for kerbside recycling processing will have best outcomes when these changes can be fully considered.
MWRRG is leading a collaborative procurement to establish short term panel contracts for participating councils in the Metropolitan, Loddon Mallee, Barwon South West and Grampians Central West waste and resource recovery regions.
The invitation to supply for the Recycling Collaborative Procurement panel contracts will be released through eProcure to the market in November 2021.
By establishing short term contract arrangements, councils and industry will have time to understand how the state government reforms will interact with markets. This will ensure future investments in infrastructure are based on sound data.
Many councils have contracts expiring in 2022. To ensure certainty and continuity for councils, panel contracts are anticipated to be in place by 30 June 2022.
The panel contracts will provide councils short term continuity in kerbside recycling processing and allows us to build on the outcomes of Recycling Victoria reforms and understand how they will interact with markets.
